Putting your business online is not an easy task. The competition is very tough, because for at least 10 years people have been actively fighting in the Internet for the attention of clients in different niches.
Before starting a new online business - research the market. Identify your market and how you can reach those markets.
Ok, advertising is the next step on the list. After you identify the desires and general wants of your target, you can also identify their interests. You must decide what types of the advertising will help you to reach your potential clients.
One of the ways can be a search engine or better say top search engines. You have two options for getting traffic from search engines: PPC (pay per click) which means you are buying the traffic from search engines or you are fighting for the positions in the natural results.
Marketing through email is also an option, in case you play by the rules and use opt-ins, so that no one calls you a spammer.
You can also try niche forums and communities - these are the places where your potential audience is dwelling online.
Joint ventures (or JVs) - you can make an offer to other business in this niche to promote you on their lists and reward them for the commissions from each sale you make. In case you are not direct competitors and you know how to approach people with business offers - this can work.
Finally, marketing offline is also great. You can try classified ads and print advertising.
If the list is too big for you - don't worry. You don't need to do all the stuff to see profits. But the purpose of this post was to show the freedom of options, and you can choose what fits you best of all.
